Naiah Earhart
Posted by Naiah Earhart on November 22nd, 2006Naiah is a thirty-year-old wife, mother, writer, and editor living in the greater-Seattle area. She’s married to her darling, sweet computer geek of a high school sweetheart, Rob Earhart, a programmer for a major software corporation and a fairly new convert to the gospel. She has two children, a daughter from her previous marriage and a son with her husband. She spends her days actively engaged in maintaining their home and personally seeing to their educational, snuggling, tickling, and giggling needs.
Before joining the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June of 1995, Naiah was studying to become a Pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and was a declared Timothy of her home congregation. Her plans took a turn when, at the end of her freshman year at Hiram College, she met the LDS missionaries through a friend-of-a-friend’s roommate (who was the only practicing Latter-day Saint on campus and a convert herself of only 6 months at the time). Over the years since then, she has offered all kinds of service in her various wards including being a Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Visiting Teacher, Activities Committee Chairman, Primary Teacher, Enrichment Committee Member, Nursery Leader, and Primary Presidency Secretary. She currently serves as Assistant Secretary in her ward’s Relief Society Presidency (she publishes the newsletter). She’s been an active member of her current ward for just shy of three years, a landmark in time she looks forward to after having returned to activity in the church following a three-year ‘hiatus of faith.’ As an adult convert and re-convert to the gospel, Naiah has a unique perspective on life both within and outside of the church, conversion, and the dangers and draws of various worldly illusions.
