OK. I will provide some commentary for the crickets… I will make comments section by section.
Introduction:
The church simply annonces being part of a coalition sponcering proposition 8 in California. This proposition would make it so that only a marriage between a man and a woman would be recognized. But I found something else interesting. Church members were asked to do all they can to support the amendment, but later it was expressed that individual members needed to decide their own appropriate level of involvement.
More later.

Divine Institution:
The article quotes a couple of scriptures and the Proclamation to make the case for marriage being a divine institution. It uses the ability to procreate as one of the primary purposes of marriage. The case is made for the traditional family being the basic building blocks of society. The proper role of government providing protections and benefits to sustain and promote marriage relationships is expressed. Finally, prominent sociologists are quoted regarding the importance of having both a male and a female parent.
