Pres. Hinckley cracks me up each conference, without fail. He’s a great example of how we should weave humor into our lives.

    Nicely done, jettboy. Thanks.

Connor, I like the idea of weaving humor into the threads of our lives.

Outstanding post my friend. Wise counsel indeed.

It’s about balance, like so many things in the gospel–maintaining a lighter attitude without losing onself to levity.

    Good post.

I just wish I had something really funny to say.

I really like this article. It fits in nicely to my concept of God. I know that he must have a sense of humor. The irony of life here on this blue marble I think is a reflection on that.

It must take some sense of humor to be able to deal with all of us humans running around like crazy people. Kind of like it takes a sense of humor to be a parent. Laugh at the world and yourself or end up being locked up at an asylum somewhere.

    So JB,
What do you make of our injunction to avoid loud laughter. Is that mocking, riotousness, or would you propose something else?

I was going to go into some long explanation of what it might be talking about. After some consideration I will shorten it to “riotousness” is what I think it means. At the least, within the context of the scriptures, it means not to take life or spiritual things lightly. Another good answer so far has been “everything in moderation.”
