Introducing contributor: Rob Osborn

From his personal blog:

“I am an active member of the LDS church and am married to my Beautiful wife Tawnya. We have one son who is 10 years old. I am always off on the deep end with my sometimes radical views on gospel doctrine.”

Off the deep end?! Radical Views?! On the Blogger of Jared?!

Yeah, yeah, we know that we’re one of the conservative blogs and so we aren’t supposed to have anyone on board that might take a stance that could possibly be interpreted as being remotely heterodox.

Well it’s kind of like Hannity and Colmes. We all know that Colmes was brought on as a weak representative of liberalism so that Sean Hannity could more easily be seen as the crusading conservative who handily slaps down Colmes’ poorly defended positions. Rob Osborn is our Alan Colmes.

I’m totally just kidding about all of that. Actually Rob was invited onto Blogger of Jared because of his writing abilities and because, above all, he is responsible in his appeals to authority. A cursory look at his blog, “Rock of Salvation” will find posts with consistent scriptural and authoritative references. This has always been a priority at Blogger of Jared. As such Rob fits in here like a glove.

Welcome Rob. Do us proud.

Bienvenidos! Hopefully you’ll be able to defend your positions here a little better than Colmes does… :)

Wow. Connor and Rob O. on the same blog. Who’s next? Mark Butler?

No, Rob is not wild. It would be wild if you were posting my articles from Idaho Falls, just north of Rob in Blackfoot.

Rob, sometime I would like to come down to Blackfoot and take you out to lunch for some conversation.

take you out to lunch for some conversation.

    wow. wow.

I think someone is trying to resurrect Blogger of Cupid here?

    Who’s next?

I believe the acquisitions department currently has it’s eye on Cecil O. Samuelson… or pending the success of his presidential bid, Mitt Romney

    Welcome aboard Rob.

    It should be interesting.

    Hello the world,

I am glad to be on board the BoJ. I have been busy over on my own blog posting about wild conspiracy theories and the like. Don’t get me confused though with that Holmes guy though as I am more like that pesty annoying gnat that you just can’t see yet you know is there buzzing around and making noise.

Maybe I will first post on some wild inner earth giants and the lost ten tribes or UFO’s or something….I like to start with a bang.

Rob, I’ve only just recently gotten to know you from comments on my blog. I’m excited that you’re on board. Welcome!

So I have long suspected Rob Osborne isn’t a real person. Have any of y’all actually met him?

I have not. Although for that matter I have never met any of the other contributors on BoJ except Wade. So I have no compelling evidence to suggest that they exist any more legitimately than Rob does. I suppose that Rob may be an imagined personality I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

    The [Rob Os]borne Identity. Intriguing.

Funny you should mention that though Geoff, I was a bit taken aback when I received a phone call from Naiah today. Not that it was unwelcome but honestly it was the first time I had to come to grips with the fact that anyone on the ‘nacle actually existed. So strange.

My nonexistant state is getting quite legendary. Often times I have to pinch myself to make sure that I really exist. Could be though I am really just the figment of peoples imaginations and I do not really exist as an actual entity, just a reproduction of random electrons which have formed from all of the negative energy in the nackle!

Hopefully Rob O, you aren’t like that creature from the Star Trek: TNG “Skin of Evil” that was tar and a bad temper. That thing was ugly and sticky.

I try very hard not to mix Cyberlife with Real Life ™ as you never know who is reading. Seems to be working. I have never met anyone from this false-existance who I have not met before.

    Ryan,
That explains your slightly flabbergasted voice! Surprise, we’re all *people* (though, honestly, sometimes you’d never know it given the way that everyone can behave towards one another around the ‘nacle). I love chatting on the phone or in person with people from the blogs. Come to think of it, Michelle and I were chatting so much, she had to change her long-distance plan…Seriously, though, we get less than a two-dimensional glimpse of each other on here. It’s important to check in as full human beings now and then.

    Rob,
Don’t get too weird, or *I* might pinch you. :P

That explains your slightly flabbergasted voice!

Actually that was the cold I am currently suffering from :)

I love chatting on the phone or in person with people from the blogs.

You know I’ve still never been to any event where LDS bloggers have met up. I imagine it would be like talking to you on the phone only a thousand times more weird. Maybe one day there will be BoJ/PoF party. As long as it’s in San Diego, or somewhere nearby, I’m there.

Yeah, I tried to organize a small one a few weeks back for my Sandy Eggo trip, but my trip was cut a day shorter since my brother had to make it back for an exam, so I wasn’t able to meet up w/ anybody. Lame. The mask of anonymity is still intact, I guess.. :)

Come to think of it, Michelle and I were chatting so much, she had to change her long-distance plan

THAT was about one of the best decisions I have made (otherwise, APoF would have ended up being a huge drain on our budget!) Yup, Naiah is one of my bestest friends now. Would be nice if WE could actually meet in person someday, though….. ;)

But I have to say that I’m excited she’s here not just cuz she’s my bud, but because she’s just ROCKIN’ AWESOME! (Take, for example, such exhuberant phrases like that one that I call Naiahisms….)

I went to a ‘bloggersnacker’ once about a year ago over at J. Stapley’s where I met a bunch of the BCC guys and Nate Oman’s sister. It was funny just how at the same time people sounded-looked-acted like their ‘voices,’ and yet looked physically nothing like I had imagined them.

A BofJ/APoF party would like totally rock my socks, and with the winter ‘dark’ setting in up here, I can’t begin to describe how utterly tempting California sounds to my poor, sunlight-starved eyes…

    Current conditions at my work

You have me laughing this afternoon, Ryan.

    thanks
