Guest Blogger: Civility Jones
Posted by Ryan on April 11th, 2006
We are pleased to announce guest Blogger Civility Jones…
So I asked Civility to send me some information about herself for the purposes of the welcome post. I received the following:
“I live in a small city in the mountain west with one great
husband, 5 kids, one cat, and 12 full bookcases ( I just realized I have one or
more in every room of my house except the bathrooms!)”
Civility — if there is any one place in a house that it is entirely sensible to put a bookcase…it is the bathroom.
Anyway, welcome!

Ryan:
Doesn’t the toilet count as a book shelf? At any given time, I’ve typically got anywhere from 1 to 3 books stacked on the back of it.
Welcome Civility!

CJONES AS A GUEST BLOGGER AT BOFJ!!!!
HOORAY!
Welcome, welcome, welcome….
Wait a minute.
Civility?
Your first name is Civility?
When I first saw the name CJones on comments throughout the Bloggernacle I first thought of one of my favorite baseball players Chipper Jones - the third baseman for the Atlanta Braves. Perhaps he was pretending to be a female mormon from the mountain west while cruising the ‘nacle. After a few weeks I determined that CJones was probably not Chipper.
I then thought that perhaps the C stood for Charming Jones. As in the Ann-Margaret character from the great film ‘The Villain’. Charming would have ‘fit’. But I suppose Civility does as well.
I am glad to hear about this. Cjones and I seemed to break into this place about the same time. We have - what? - supported each other in this endeavor. (Is that fair C?) I hope this gives some more people an opportunity to experience your intelligence and style and enjoy it as I have.
Again, welcome. Civility.

Thanks for the welcome!
Wade- The former owner of a house we used to live in had cut a hole right into the wall next to the toilet and installed a magazine rack. He was a very practical man!
Eric- You are too kind, as ever. It’s been fun going through those blogging ups and downs with you. Thanks for everything!

Is this name real? Please let it be so. A world in which someone is named Civility Jones is a wonderful world.

Oh yeah, the bathroom, definitely.
I keep all the deep thoughts and far side books in there. Every once in awhile, I have to go run my granddaughter out of there because she gets reading and stays for an hour.
We put the Reader’s Digest and the New Era and Friends in a basket, too, but I don’t think they get read as much.
